stars, sex and nudity buzz : 07/11/2012

* couple of curious castings featuring two petite lassies still dodging the nudity bullet.

Britt Robertson Cast In ‘White Rabbit’
Britt Robertson White RabbitBritt Robertson has joined the cast of the dark bully drama White Rabbit. The actress joins True Blood’s Sam Trammell and The Descendants’ Nick Krause, who plays Robertson’s boyfriend. Tim McCann is directing. Robert Yocum of Burning Sky Films, Shaun Sanghani of SSS Entertainment, and Jacky Morgan are producing. Robertson, who appeared on The CW’s now cancelled The Secret Circle, will be seen soon in the teen romance The First Time from Sony Pictures. The feature premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January. Robertson is repped by Innovative Artists.
Krause, who had his breakout role in the Oscar recipient The Descendents, will play the role of a bullied high school teen whose nightmares begin to transcend to affect his waking life. Trammell, who is known for his role as shapeshifter Sam Merlotte on HBO’s True Blood, will play his father in the fantasy drama.

* Tim McCann is known for making off-beat (read: shitty) flicks but has the talent in getting the female leads naked - even for a brief moment - in his movies. Britt is vulnerable thanks to recent spate of failed shows including The Secret Circle. The girl could surprise us.

Anna Kendrick To Star In Joe Swanberg's 'Drinking Buddies'
So is Joe Swanberg selling out, or is Anna Kendrick slumming it? Perhaps it's somewhere in the middle for both these talents, but if you told us before today that these two would be working together on a movie, we would've laughed.
Mumblecore maven, lo-fi guru and indie stalwart Swanberg has gone Hollywood (to a degree) casting Kendrick in his next film "Drinking Buddies." What do we know about it? Well, Andrea Roa, Anish Savajani and Alica van Couvering are producing... and that's about it. Huh. We would be remiss if we didn't mention that Swanberg has already flirted with more mainstream fare, sorta, directing a segment of the upcoming horror anthology "V/H/S." But for the most part, his films have utilized a crew of regular collaborators, an improv technique and gritty aesthetics that have won him as many champions as destractors. Will this one have a bit more polish? Guess we'll see.
Production on the film begins this month in Chicago and considering how fast Swanberg tends to crank his movies out, a Sundance Film Festival premiere isn't entirely out of the question.

* Unless I'm missing something here 27-years old Miss Kendrick is probably ready to show her nice and perfect funbags. Joe Swanberg is a douche but he is a charming douche when it comes to persuading the girls in his movies to go all the way. Anna have a strict non-nudity clause but never say never. Olivia Munn used to be member of this club too.

Picking A Director and Cast For The 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie

"Fifty Shades Of Grey," along with sequels "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed" is a publishing phenomenon the likes of which haven't been seen since "Twilight." The book, by EL James (a pseudonym for British TV executive Erika Leonard), actually started as fan-fiction for characters from Stephenie Meyer's books, entitled "Master Of The Universe," later reworked, extended and republished as a stand-alone piece, and released as an e-book over three volumes between May 2011 and January 2012. It became a word-of-mouth hit, picked up by Vintage Books for a wider commercial release this April, and has, in a little over a year, sold 20 million copies across the three books -- accounting for one in every five hardback fiction novels sold, with Leonard said to be earning $1 million a week for her troubles. It's all the more impressive considering that the story is unashamed, and reasonably explicit, erotica, not a genre that's led to blockbuster sales figures.

And inevitably, despite the dangers involved, film rights were swiftly snapped up, with
Universal's indie arm Focus Features winning the bidding war, ahead of the likes of Warners, Sony and Paramount, with the prestige of James Schamus' company, behind films like "Brokeback Mountain" and "Moonrise Kingdom," apparently swinging it, although James apparently retains virtually unheard-of creative control over the adaptation. The film(s) isn't being fast-tracked, but Variety reported this morning that producers have spent the last week pitching to be put in charge of the project, so clearly movement is happening.

And as such, we thought it might a good opportunity to do what your mom's been doing for weeks, and what you've been thinking about getting up the courage to do, and actually reading the thing, thinking about who might be decent candidates to direct and star in the eventual film (
Angelina Jolie was mentioned at one point as director, but it seemed to have been nothing more than rumors). It's clear from Leonard's demands that we're looking at something that will at least have the veneer of prestige; indeed Focus head James Schamus has suggested that he might write the screenplay himself, as he did for "The Ice Storm," "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" and "Lust, Caution," among others.

As for the book itself, it's safe to say it's not going to be in consideration for the Pulitzer or anything. There's only really about one-and-a-half book's worth of story across the three novels (an adaptation would be wise to make one or two films, rather than three, but that would pretty much be a case of throwing money away, so it's unlikely to happen), and the prose is mostly of about the level you'd expect for something that started as fan fiction (for a fun way to put yourself into a coma, drink a shot every time the words "inner goddess" appear) and things slow to a boring,
boring crawl every time the central couple aren't fucking.

There is however, plenty of fucking (spiced up with a dash of S-and-M) and this is obviously the stuff that's made the book sell into the millions. There's undoubtedly sexier, better-written erotica out there, but as a sort of gateway, a not-too-threatening, not-too-chaste "Twilight" with nipple clamps, we can probably see the appeal. What's interesting is how it makes it to the screen; even done without "
Shortbus"-style real sex, the book as written is pretty much a guaranteed NC-17, and yet to tone it down would be to risk losing what everyone liked about it in the first place.

And it'll also affect the kind of filmmakers and actors it can attract. Stars resistant to nudity or sex scenes can pretty much be counted out of the running, and ideally you'd need a filmmaker with some experience in that field too -- the risk is that the visual isn't always going to live up to what the reader imagines (something
which Leonard herself seems to be worried about) and could be a little prosaic on screen. We'd also argue that being told through a woman's point of view is a fairly crucial part of the book's success (anecdotally, several friends have told us that's part of what hooked them), and perhaps having a female director might be a way of retaining that perspective and sensitivity on the big screen, as well as hopefully ironing out some of the more questionable gender issues.

But preamble aside, below you'll find our view on who would be sensible hires for Focus not only to direct the film, but also star as the two leads, Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey (we're leaving the supporting cast alone for now, mainly because it's pretty much a two-hander, in the first book at least). Obviously, there's a certain amount of projection going on with fan-casting of this kind, so you're likely to disagree.

The Director
The position's still wide open, and aside from Schamus, there are no writers in the mix, so we could well see a writer-director on board, and that might be preferable, in order for someone to stamp a particular vision on a text that could need it. A Focus Features budget means we're unlikely to see a bona-fide A-lister.
Our Pick: New Zealand helmer Jane Campion. The director has shown a sure hand with female sexuality in the Oscar-winning "The Piano," and delved into a darker, S-and-M happy side of sexuality with "In The Cut." That film was poisonously received (in part thanks to a miscast Meg Ryan, who replaced Nicole Kidman), but it's more interesting than its reputation suggests. If Campion can make a film as chaste as "Bright Star" so sexy, than she could certainly bring genuine eroticism to "Fifty Shades Of Grey," and could probably use a studio-endorsed hit at this point; her current project is the BBC miniseries "Top Of The Lake."
Other Choices We Like: The involvement of Schamus makes his regular collaborator Ang Lee a genuine possibility, and we can absolutely see him being a good choice, particularly after the risque "Lust, Caution," one of the biggest-grossing NC-17 releases ever. Sarah Polley's "Take This Waltz" recently explored similar territory in terms of the awakening of female sexuality, and she'd do a spectacular job, but we can't realistically see her being interested. It'd be fascinating to see Paul Verhoeven's take, but we're not sure Focus would trust him with the material. A safer pair of hands would be Ben Lewin, whose sexually-frank "The Sessions" looks to be a major awards player later this year, although that film's considerably warmer.
Other Possibilities: In terms of more studio-friendly names, Steven Soderbergh might be feasible if he wasn't retiring, while Adrian Lyne made his name on this kind of fare, he's hasn't made a film for a decade, but is currently gearing up to return with "Back Roads." From the indie world, Dee Rees, Debra Granik, Lynn Shelton, Julia Leigh, Sofia Coppola or Paul Schrader would all be interesting choices, but probably unlikely ones, while the riskiest, will-never-happen-but-would-be-perfect choice would be French auteur Catherine Breillat. A good compromise would be Philip Kaufman, who's been in this kind of territory before with "Henry and June" and "Quills," and recently made something of a comeback with HBO's "Hemingway and Gellhorn."

Anastasia Steele
The Role: A virginal 22-year-old university grad who wants to work in publishing, Anastasia (or Ana), covers for her roommate Kate to interview Christian Grey, and finds herself drawn to him, discovering sides of herself she never knew existed. She's described as a "pale, brown-eyed girl" with "eyes too big for her face"
Our Pick: Analeigh Tipton. The former model (who came to fame thanks to "America's Next Top Model" has made an impressive transition to screen acting, first thanks to rom-com "Crazy Stupid Love" and then Whit Stillman's "Damsels In Distress." A good match for the physical description and age, and a talented actress who's unlikely to make the part as much of a pushover as some might. But despite some risque moments in her modeling, and in a recurring role on HBO's "Hung," would she sign off on the nudity required?
Other Choices We Like: Felicity Jones has become a bit of a fan favorite for the part, and we can certainly see why; although she's 28, she looks significantly younger, and could pull off the inherent innocence of the character easily. But again, she might resist a part quite as explicit as this one, especially as she's being offered everything in town these days. Perhaps more open to it, given some of their past work, are Elizabeth Olsen (although she's equally in demand) or "Game Of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke, if the latter wouldn't be too constricted by her HBO obligations to sign on to a trilogy of movies. Jones' "Albatross" co-star Jessica Brown-Findlay might be a possibility, although the actress oozes sexuality, and we wonder if she could pull of the repressed nature of the role early on.
Other Possibilities: Kristen Stewart, inevitably, has been much talked about by fans, while names like Lily Collins, Anna Kendrick and Shailene Woodley have come up too, though most have more wholesome images. Either Teresa  Palmer or Emily Browning feel like good, if very different fits, while British actress Imogen Poots and rising star Bella Heathcote are very plausible as well. Another offbeat suggestion we like: Samantha Barks, who has a plum role in "Les Miserables" that looks to make her a star.

Christian Grey
The Role: A 28-year-old billionaire from a troubled background, who's used an interest in dominant sexuality and S-and-M to avoid opening up emotionally to anyone, who picks Anastasia to be his new submissive. He's described as "tall, well dressed" with "copper-colored hair and intense green eyes." For what it's worth, an academic recently released a photo composite of what women had told him they thought the character looked like, and you can see that here. Spoiler: it doesn't resemble Paul Giamatti.
Our Choice: Fast-rising star Tom Hiddleston. At 31, he's as close to the age required, has his star firmly on the rise thanks to "The Avengers" (which let him be brooding and dark), and is a good fit for the character's description. Has displayed his romantic stripes in "The Deep Blue Sea," and pulled off a strong American accent as F. Scott Fitzgerald in "Midnight In Paris." But would the shackles of his Marvel contract, which likely still has several films to go even after "Thor 2", mean he might resist another franchise for now?
Other Choices We Like: Another Brit, Henry Cavill, could be a good fit for the part, but again, he could be tied up with superhero business for the immediate future, unless "Man Of Steel" tanks. Armie Hammer is another one who springs to mind, but is he too old-money to come off as the son of a crack addict? We like the idea of Joel Kinnaman in the part too, who has a certain exoticism, and likely isn't yet too big to take the role. One chocie that might seem unlikely until you think about it: Benedict Cumberbatch, whose fervent female fanbase has a lot of cross over with a target audience, and has a certain dark sexuality to him (see: "Sherlock"). But is he too old at 35?
Other Choices: Fans have brought up the names of Ryan Gosling, Michael Fassbender and Andrew Garfield, but we can't see any of the three, arguably the most sought-after actors around, being willing to do it, and the same likely goes for Channing Tatum.  Alexander Skarsgard is a more plausible choice, while Justin Timberlake could arguably work too if he tones down certain aspects of his personality. Ian Somerhalder is a serious favorite among fans, but we suspect more for the looks than his acting skills...  For a younger take, rising star Sam Claflin ("Snow White and The Huntsman") might be be possible. And for our curveball: porn star James Deen, currently making his straight acting debut in Paul Schrader and Bret Easton Ellis' "The Canyons."

I was waiting with anticipation the casting news for Very Good Girls(2013).
Even more when my 'fictional' cousin sent me the original script nearly a year ago. Holy crap! It was sexually frank (dialogues wise) and frequent nudity by the the two lead characters (mostly in non-sexual segments). Never thought it will adapted to the screen despite some solid dialogues and superb characterizations by Naomi Foner. I was jumping for joy when Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen was cast. Both roles have topless scenes and I thought this is it. Dakota showing us her titties for the first time. Quickly dampened when my cousin said the script have been completely revised. Most of the nudity downgraded to PG-13 crap. More bad news......

Playboy............?

For sure something racy from financially-strapped Miss Rima Fakih. Now training to be a WWE Diva.
When Donald Trump took over Miss USA in 1996 he was merely a hands-off owner until the viewership ratings begin to slide in mid-2000. It was slight and nothing alarming amid the gloomy economy but for the Donald it was time to be more pro-active. Yep. The pageant is technically 'rigged'. Beside sexing up the pageant, Donald also wanted memorable winners. A true winner without old-fashioned moral constraints and appetite for hard-work. A beauty queen with ability to capture folks imagination in good or even in bad way. Both Rima and Alyssa have been given the support to push the envelope in terms of projecting themselves in the media and do whatever to generate publicity. The solid encouragement comes from the Donald himself. Who do you think got Rima into WWE? Thanks to Trump close relationship with Vince McMahon, Miss Fakih the Muslim Mama is going to sexy up the ring with tiny outfits and outrageous behavior.

Fifty Shades of Grey’ Gets a Musical Parody
When it comes to E.L. James’ erotic novel ‘Fifty Shades of Grey,’ opinions are divided into three camps — women who love it, women who hate it, and men who have read the book but are afraid to admit it. This hysterical NSFW parody called ‘Fifty Shades of Grey — The Musical’ neatly addresses all three perspectives.
While a jaunty show tune plays, one woman sings about how the book provides an exciting alternative to her boring life, while another can barely hide her disgust, arguing that every page makes her “eyeballs bleed.”
Meanwhile, a man secretly reads the book and sheepishly hides his love for it. Of course, his motivations for reading are slightly different. Let’s just say he finds the book, um, stimulating and leave it at that.

What do you think of the novel? Which of these three camps do you fall in?

Should Ronda Rousey Pose Nude for Playboy?
Fan's View
In the wake of Ronda Rousey's recent decision to bare all for ESPN the Magazine's Body Issue, perhaps she would be open to the idea of posing nude for Playboy.
Opposed to the idea in January
On Jan. 11, a fan asked Rousey via Twitter if she would ever consider posing for Playboy, the iconic men's magazine that has been around since 1953. The fan tweeted "y not playboy? got something to hide? :-)." Rousey responded "yeah, it's called my vajayjay-no one should be able to see it for $5!"
That same week, she tweeted "@BillCollektr: @RondaRousey would you ever pose for Maxim or mags like that?" maxim, sure, playboy, no."
Drawing The Line At Maxim?
Judging by those comments, it seemed that Rousey drew the line at photo shoots that kept her covered up at least to the point of what she would typically wear at a beach. She even took a shot at UFC ring girls Arianny Celeste and Brittney Palmer, who both recently posed for Playboy.
"With all these ring girls and their v***** - all of this goes back to advice my mom gave me. She gave me this one piece of advice, which I still hold dear," Rousey said in a bjpenn.com report. "[My mom said 'Look, whatever pictures you put out there are gonna be out there forever, so just think that one day your 12 or 13-year-old son or daughter is going to see those pictures. Whatever you want your son or daughter, or even your 13-year-old little sister to see, keep that in mind.' So, whatever I'm not gonna show on a beach, I'm not gonna show in a magazine. These [UFC ring girls who appeared in Playboy] are going to have to explain to their kids one day why mommy's (explicit), and (explicit), are all over the place."
Posing Nude For ESPN
Flash forward seven months. Rousey bared all for ESPN the Magazine's Body Issue, which will be on newsstand shelves on July 13.
Compare her comments from January to what she had to say in a recent interview to promote ESPN the Magazine's Body Issue, where she seemed to embrace the concept of posing nude for men's magazines.
"I work hard. I'm proud of how I look," she said. "It's something that should be celebrated. I can finally put my past [self-conscience] issues behind me and be comfortable naked around people."
ESPN's The Body Issue vs Playbo
In my view, there's not a huge difference between appearing 'artistically nude' in ESPN's The Body Issue and posing for Playboy.
Playboy is one of the classiest of all men's magazines, perhaps even moreso than Maxim. It has been around since the early-1950s and featured the images of some of the most famous Hollywood stars and athletes of the past six decades.
Much like ESPN the Magazine attempts to celebrate athlete's bodies with their annual Body Issue, Playboy is a celebration of the female form.
Their photo shoots are comparable to what Rousey agreed to for ESPN, as they never portray females in an explicitly sexual way. Everything is done with style and grace, which is why Playboy continues to be a powerhouse in the year 2012.
Playboy's circulation is well over the 1.5 million mark, so an appearance by Rousey would also help to raise the national profile of women's MMA in a classy manner.

An Update on John Carpenter’s “Darkchylde”
It’s been a while since news has surfaced on John Carpenter’s DARKCHYLDE, his newest film project based on the popular comic book.
The film comes from a script by DARKCHYLDE creator Randy Queen and is produced by Carpenter’s wife, Sandy King Carpenter. Daily Grindhouse provided the following updates:
  • Weta (LORD OF THE RINGS, AVATAR, THE AVENGERS) is developing creature concepts
  • Illusion Industries (WATCHMEN, GI JOE: RETALIATION) is working on the design of Ariel
  • Peerless is working on some of her manifestations.
  • The creatures will be mostly “practical effects with some CG enhancements.”
  • Chloe Grace Moretz (KICK-ASS, DARK SHADOWS), Elizabeth Olsen (RED LIGHTS, SILENT HOUSE) and Elle Fanning (SUPER 8 ) are being envisioned in the title role
DARKCHYLDE follows Ariel Chylde, a girl who can bring the creatures from her nightmares to life, and transform into them. Judging from the comic book’s design of the character (below), we know one thing that will have to be enhanced with CG if any of the aforementioned stars sign on for Ariel…

Adult film star Ron Jeremy in 2007.Porn star Ron Jeremy was courted to play bait in Magnotta sting
The Canadian Press

Twin Playboy bunnies and an animal-rights group tried to enlist one of the world’s biggest porn stars last year to help catch Luka Rocco Magnotta.
Ron Jeremy said he was asked to lure Mr. Magnotta, a small-time Canadian porn actor, to Los Angeles with a phony job offer to appear in an X-rated flick.
The ploy was concocted more than a year before Mr. Magnotta became a murder suspect in the gruesome death of Montreal student Lin Jun.
Instead of meeting a legend who’s cavorted for the camera in more than 2,000 adult films, Mr. Magnotta was to be apprehended by a hard-nosed group of animal-rights activists.
Mr. Jeremy, however, got cold feet and the sting operation never moved ahead.
At the time, animal-rights advocates had alleged that Mr. Magnotta killed kittens and posted videos of the deeds on the Internet — accusations he has publicly denied.
Mr. Jeremy, an active animal-rights campaigner, wanted to help out, but was uncomfortable with the whole idea of being the bait.
“That’s a little bit out of my league, don’t you think?” Mr. Jeremy told The Canadian Press in a phone interview about the January 2011 proposal.
“It’s like an episode from some TV show. The [guy] comes to the set with lube in one hand and his schmeckle in the other thinking he has a job, and the cops tackle him to the ground.
“That’s good for the movies. That doesn’t work in real life.”
Last month, Mr. Magnotta was charged with first-degree murder in the ghastly May slaying and dismemberment of the 33-year-old Mr. Lin. He pleaded not guilty in a Montreal courtroom.
The idea for the porn-gig trap was hatched by Rescue Ink, a group of rough-and-tumble animal activists based in Queens, N.Y. Its membership includes police officers, military personnel and tattooed “street guys.”
To connect with Mr. Jeremy, Rescue Ink reached out to a couple of his acquaintances: former Playboy playmates Sia and Shane Barbi, also known as the Barbi Twins.
Up until a recent chat with a reporter, Mr. Jeremy wasn’t even aware that Mr. Magnotta was now a murder suspect.
“I told Sia I’m willing to do things and help, do public service announcements, or whatever it takes,” said Mr. Jeremy, 59, who has been a spokesman for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
“But I’m not a law-enforcement agent. How do I catch somebody?”
The actor, who has also directed nearly 300 porn films, was to personally invite Mr. Magnotta to come to a Hollywood adult-movie set.
Rescue Ink collaborators would have been waiting there in the shadows to pounce on an unsuspecting Mr. Magnotta. Their captive would have later been handed over to authorities.
Sia Barbi remembers that Mr. Jeremy initially wanted to play along, even though they told him Mr. Magnotta was likely only interested in gay or bisexual adult movies.
“Ron Jeremy said: ‘I only do straight porn,’ ” Barbi said in a phone interview.
“And I said, ‘Ron, let’s focus here. We don’t want to hire him, we want to arrest him.’ ”
But as Mr. Jeremy learned more about his role, she said he got cold feet. The Barbis and Rescue Ink expressed concern at the time that the kitten killer in the video could eventually harm humans.
“I think it kind of spooked Ron,” said Barbi. “It just got a little bit creepy for all of us.”
When the plan was first conceived, they had a direct line of contact to Mr. Magnotta, through the help of a confidential female informant working for Rescue Ink.
The woman was involved in an ongoing online dialogue with him and the group had gathered evidence for police, said Joe Panz, Rescue Ink’s co-founder.
Mr. Panz, a burly pawnbroker from Queens, said Mr. Magnotta had to be drawn into the U.S. because animal-abuse allegations weren’t serious enough to have him extradited.
He said the potential risks of the scheme were explained to Mr. Jeremy.
“I don’t lie. Yes, you can get hurt,” said Mr. Panz, who has six bullet-wound scars from an attempted hit on his life several years ago.
“I can’t put somebody in harm’s way without telling them, ’Listen, this could go very badly for you.’ ”
Mr. Panz said Mr. Jeremy, whose porn nickname is “The Hedgehog,” was also worried that setting up a fellow adult actor might tarnish his reputation in the industry.
“I don’t blame him,” he said of Mr. Jeremy’s decision not to take part in the sting. “He was in a very difficult situation.”
Mr. Jeremy believes a larger casting call — thus having more people around — might have been a safer option to snag Mr. Magnotta. But he said his busy schedule didn’t free up the time to organize it.
A smaller shoot just wouldn’t have worked, he says.
“If he comes to an empty house, he’ll be suspicious,” said Mr. Jeremy, who also raised other concerns.
“If this guy’s got friends in L.A., who want to search me out first or check me out first, why would I want to put myself in the line of fire like that?”

Women make freedom plea for accused father-son pimp team
'We are not victims,' says T-shirt worn by one of a group of women backing livery car service owner Vincent George Sr. and son Vincent George Jr., charged in sex-trafficking case
Five women linked to a sex-trafficking outfit allegedly run by Vincert George Sr. and his son Vincent George Jr. sport T-shirts backing the men.
Vincent George Jr.
Vincent George Sr.

Five women who the Manhattan district attorney’s office claims were forced into prostitution by a livery car service owner and his son are standing by their accused pimps.
“We’re a family,” said one of the women, who refused to give her name, outside a Manhattan courthouse. “It’s not a crime to have more than one woman in your life.”
The women all sported homemade T-shirts with words of support for Vincent George Sr. and Vincent George Jr., who are accused of using a music recording company and the car service to launder millions of dollars for their bordello on wheels.
They were also indicted on charges of trafficking the girls under threat of violence, according to prosecutors. The father and son were in court Tuesday in an unsuccessful attempt to get out on bail.
“We are not victims,” read one of the women’s T-shirts.
One of the women sported a “King” tattoo on her neck, which prosecutors claim was a way for the Georges to mark them like property. Another had a barcode tattooed on her body, the DA says.
The women wept in court when they saw the Georges and nearly collapsed outside the courtroom after the judge refused to grant bail.
The men are not charged with promoting prostitution, which the woman admit is their profession.

* The babe on the far right........dayummm......she is the one with tattoo. Branded. Father and son must have enjoyed DP'ing the shit outta of her.
